Whether you’ve taken our Try It Wheel Throwing class or have prior experience, this six-week course is your chance to elevate your pottery game. Guided by Jason Brady, a talented local ceramics college professor, you’ll master the foundations and progress to creating complex shapes like bowls, mugs, plates, and vases.

🎨 What to Expect:

🌀 Week 1 - Foundations of Wheel Throwing

• Get acquainted with the basics of the pottery wheel and essential clay terminology.

• Learn wedging techniques and dive into centering, opening, pulling, and shaping your first pottery piece.

• Understand proper wheel and workstation care.

🌀 Weeks 2–6 - Progressive Skill Development

• Build on your skills each week, advancing from foundational techniques to throwing more intricate shapes.

• Learn trimming, refining, and attaching handles to your creations.

• Explore glazing basics during the final week and complete your pieces by Saturday for firing.

• All pottery pieces will be ready for pickup the week after class ends!

🎁 Included in Your Experience:

• 6 sessions of hands-on instruction (2 hours each).

• A 25-pound bag of high-quality stoneware clay ($111 value - more clay available for purchase from Mr. Toad’s Pottery).

• Pottery tools, a shelf for in-progress pieces, and studio supplies.

• Bisque firing, stoneware glazes, and finish firing for durable final creations.

• A Make It Clay membership during the six week class ($135 value), offering extra practice time outside of instructed session to refine your skills.
