About Us: Unleashing Creativity at Mr. Toad's Pottery

 

Founded in September 2011 in downtown Cumberland, Mr. Toad's Pottery has been a beacon of artistic expression in the heart of Western Maryland. Since its humble beginnings, our pottery studio has undergone a remarkable journey of growth and transformation.

In the summer of 2019, Mr. Toad's Pottery embarked on an exciting new chapter when it was acquired by our current owner, Ferne Benson. With a vision to create a thriving creative hub, the studio was relocated to its current home in the LaVale Shopping Center, nestled amidst the breathtaking Appalachian mountains of Western Maryland.

In this new 6,000 square foot space, Mr. Toad's Pottery has flourished, allowing us to expand and enhance our offerings. Our main paint-your-own pottery and colorbook canvas studio now boasts ample seating for up to 100 painters, providing a vibrant and spacious environment for creativity to thrive. Additionally, our event studio comfortably accommodates 34 painters, catering to groups seeking a unique and inspiring experience.

As we continue to evolve, we are excited to announce the upcoming opening of our clay studio. This eagerly anticipated addition will offer wheel throwing and clay hand building, providing yet another avenue for artistic exploration and mastery.
